For our first hike from the book that inspired this adventure, we chose the Black Run Preserve in Evesham, NJ.

We did about 3 miles in a loop, walking sections of both the Long Path and the Peaceful Partners Trail. It was mostly a super cruisey trail once you got passed the first quarter of the Long Path which is full of deep, exposed roots. It was fully shaded, and relaxing. The trails themselves are near the road so it was not the most serene of hikes, but relaxing and therapeutic enough.

The trails we chose was centered around a few bogs and marshes and obviously has some very busy beavers on sight highlighted by their tale tell pointy stumps and damns. The route we took lasted about 90 minutes, but can be done is a shorter amount of time. I just lingered to film and photograph the preserve as we walked. Both of these trails had a difficulty rating of easy. This is a great place to take a quick hike, have a relaxing stroll, or just take a break from the hubbub of every day life.

It felt so good to be back hiking and walking again after a long winter and rainy spring. We hope you get to spend more time outside as we move deeper in 2024 and beyond, and we hope you share your stories with us!
